Contemporary Urban Infill
Title: Contemporary Urban Infill
This is a two-story contemporary house built for a narrow urban lot, characterized by a clean, box-like form and high contrast materials.
Geometry and Volumes: The house features a flat roof and a clean, rectangular massing that maximizes the available space between neighboring traditional homes. The upper and lower floors use color to define distinct horizontal volumes.
Materials and Contrast:
Upper Floor: Defined by a bright, cantilevered volume. The main facade uses large panels of white marble-look cladding and expansive glazing. The roof edge features a thick white fascia with integrated lighting.
Lower Floor: Clad in a muted dark olive or forest green render. This section includes two black roll-up garage doors set below the main living space.
Entrance: The main entrance is recessed and features a two-story section of dark cladding and glass, creating a vertical break between the garage and the white frame.
Outdoor Space: The upper floor includes a wide balcony with a modern frameless glass railing, maximizing light and offering an outdoor extension to the living area.
The overall design is a sleek, modern statement contrasting sharply with its more traditional neighbors.
