Modern Rural Conversion
Title: Modern Rural Conversion
This is a single-story or split-level structure that represents a modern conversion of a former farmhouse into a guest house.
The design successfully blends traditional, barn-like forms with a contemporary material palette. The core structure features a steeply pitched roof clad in a warm red-brown tile or brick texture, sitting above simple white walls, referencing its rural origins.
This traditional form is integrated with modern extensions and cladding:
Materials: Large, prominent sections of the facade are defined by rough, fieldstone cladding, contrasting sharply with the smooth light gray or white render.
Contrast: Vertical sections of dark, slate-gray or black cladding frame the stone and render, adding a sleek, structured dimension.
Entrance: The entrance is marked by a contemporary flat-roofed portico supported by a thick column, utilizing vertical wood slats and dark panels.
Enclosure: The property is enclosed by a modern, high concrete privacy wall and a dark gate, providing a sense of seclusion and security.
The overall aesthetic is a sturdy, sophisticated blend of rustic texture and clean modern lines.
